Mission in Action Day

The day was termed Mission In Action Day. 10 June was the day when Amen Kids Team gathered together to feed and clothe the ‘street kids’. We had bread, Juices, second hand clothes, Sadza, meat and relish. The day started at 10 am at Harare Gardens in the capital city Harare. We had a powerful music session and presentations from both the selected children living in the streets and Amen Kids. The interaction and networking was very necessary to influence the victims of street living to appreciate a normal life, so we partnered with Ocean Waves junior school, a local school , to come and parade their uniforms and send encouraging speeches. We wanted them to see that they can be in class like any other kids and they can make it in life. On the other hand we intended to teach our kids that to be in the street for wrong reasons was hectic and uncomfortably. Both sides learnt something. We fed about 100 kids with the aid of the Dorcas Department and there were smiles everywhere .

BOOK DISTRIBUTION HARARE JOINA CITY & CONSTRUCTION HOUSE

We had to solicit for books to give out to the general public in which well wishers donated as many as to fill a small pick - up truck. The distribution started at 3 O’clock pm. The departure point was Joina City down Jason Moyo street towards Construction House. About 20 Kids assembled themselves together accompanied by a powerful Blue Tooth P.A System to notify pedestrians about the event. As we went out giving out the Pamphlets, Health and Wellness , Great Hope, Great Controversy and Steps to Christ books the receivers were not turning down the little ones. We were amazed to see the craze and rush for the books by many people in the CBD. By the time we reached our final stop at Construction house we had distributed close to 500 Books. Children are embraced easily when they offer things to adults and that strategy is a success.

CHARITY PROGRAM AT CHINYARADZO

Amen kids visited the orphanage in Harare with some goodies and they spent the whole day playing, singing and praying. We collaborated with a male musical group called ‘The Well’. The day was amazing and we wrote each other letters so that they remember our names and we remember theirs.
